Student Research Projects
Each year, AP English students are given the chance to research and present a Holocaust project. They can read another Holocaust novel, research a person or place, study artwork, watch a movie,....the options are endless. Here are this year's results:
David O'Malley chose to research the "Einsatzgruppen," the brutal mobile killing squads that operated mainly in Russia and the Ukraine. He told us about the key organizers and leaders, showed us maps of their reign of terror, explained the meticulous record-keeping that was maintained, and displayed pictures of their methods of excecution.
Keri Coughlin read the fiction book, If I Should Die Before I Wake, which was an unusual story of a young Neo-Nazi girl in modern times who, after a motorcycle accident, finds herself mentally transported back in time to live the life of a Jewish teenage girl in the Holocaust.
