Bible Stories: Extra Credit
Project Ideas
Again, you may choose up to any TWO of these projects. The point
value will depend on the quality of your work.
1. Compile a soundtrack of the Old Testament
stories. You might choose to have a song for some of the major
figures in the Bible, or your soundtrack might have selections centered
around the various stories.
2. Research and write up a report about what
archeologists have found to prove or disprove the historical accuracy
of the Bible. (Check out links on MrsApplebee.com to get
started.) You could focus on one place/event/person or on a
variety.
3. What kind of evidence have scientists found of
Noah’s ark? Where is it? What have they discovered? Write
up a summary of past expeditions to the area.
4. Create some kind of artwork, either around a
character or around an event from the stories we’ve read. The
medium is up to you: paint, pastels, diorama, etc.
5. Create a scrapbook of pictures and captions about
the events of all the stories, or you could pick a single character and
make a scrapbook that would just be his/hers. (Feel free to read
the story from its original source for more ideas.)
6. Read and do a PMI journal on one of the magazine
articles about the Bible or its characters. Time, Newsweek, US
News (or others) periodically have an article in them. You can borrow
one from my collection or find one on your own.
7. Read and do a book report on a Biblical-related
fiction book. Again, you can borrow any of my books or find one
on your own.
8. Create a family tree of the Old Testament
characters from the stories we’ve read. Be creative!
Even though we don’t do any New Testament in class:
9. Lots has been said about Mary Magdelene and her
role in the life and times of Jesus Christ. Read a book, do some
research and a report, or some other project surrounding the “new”
stories about Mary Magdelene.
